Freddy Fantasy

In this drawing we had to draw a skeleton and make up any sort of person we wanted our skeleton to be. This assignment was the perfect time to bring out my creativity and my sense of humor. I used lines and i have a lot of negative space. WHen i was doing this assignment I was looking at random funny pictures and saw a picture of a Jamaian style hat with the fake dreadlocks. This is where I got my ideads from.

Portrait

In this assignment I used bright colors, different shapes and lines. we had to make a portrait of ourselves, so i chose to draw a picture of myself when i was little and present day. Also the whole cowboy is an inside joke that my family and I share so thats why i have hats on in both of the drawings. This was one of the most challenging ones becasue it was the first time this semester that I had worked with pastel. I like pastel but i think in order for it to come out right I have to work with it more.

Geometrical Still-LIfe Sketch

This was a simple still life against a light. We had to draw all the shapes spread out on a table and then we hadto put in the shading. We only had about 40 minutes to draw this becasue it was a quick exercise. This drawing was very relaxing in the beginning and really warmed me up for the other half of the class.

Freddy Charcoal

In this drawing we had to sraw the shapes of the skeleton that was put up right above a light. this way there were shadows on the skeleton. When i was finished with the drawing and the shading I had to erase all of the parts that were completely black. This is why the skeleton isnt outlined all the way. Also I had to pick a certain spot on the skeleton and enlarge it.

Stool Painting

We had to draw a still life of stools on top of each other and facing different directions. I had to get the chapes just right in order to copy what i was exactly seeing. After drawign th stools I had to draw lines in random places and then later hose which segments of the paper would be white or black.  This project contains negative and paositive space. The colors are obviously black and white. I like how we had to draw lines to divide the paper and later choose which parts whould be black or white.

Gouache Ink Resist Painting

In this project i used alot of color according to what i thougth looked like a sword fish. I drew the shap of the fish turning. I enlarged the original image that I copied it from. I used guache and blended some of the colors but it took a while to get the right color. After the i finished painting and it was all dry I put ink over it. I covered it completely and let it dry. When the ink was dry i washed it off which aslo made some of the guache come off and the ink stayed in the painting. You can still clearly see the fish and that was the whole purpose of this painting.

Black and White Portrait

In this painting we had to pick a picture of ourselves and with picture manager we made it black and white. The point was to have no grays in the print out. When we printed it out the black and white oicture we used watercolor paper and traced it. We put the original printo out against light and were able to trace it on the watercolor. After I traced it I filled in where it was black in the picture and left it white were it was white. I left alot of negative spacing enought to make the black pop out and make the painting of myself the center. I didn't finishe out the shaping of the rest if my sweater because I wanted the sweater to blend in with the painting.

Candy Study

In this drawing we had to chose our favortie candy and draw it. In my case i chise Blow Pop or lolipops. We had to fill in & boxes. The box at the top had to have the main logo and in the other boxes we had to box different parts of the logo and make it bigger. This way we were really looking into the logo and the canyd, otherwise the "candy study." I used 3 main colors in this drawing; red, blue, yellow, and white. These colors are the main ones of the candy. I also got craetive and decided to draw circles and also a drawing of a little boy which is also on the fritn box of the candy. I really liked how well the colors go together.

Water Collor Landscape

This painting contains line, color, texture and positive space. For this painting I used bright water colors and guache. To me watercolors are very light but if mixed together can make beautiul colors. In order to make things pop out to the viewer I used the guache in order to make it darker. I chose an image with the sunset showing in the distance and clouds in the sky. I also mirrored the original image in the water below. I liked this project because of all the colors i had to use to get the right tone that i thought would make the painting stand out.
